STAGE THREE
(50+% INCREASE*)

Looking for maximum GRUNT without compromising factory reliability? Our Stage Three Package is for you! This package will give you the ultimate in diesel performance, with massive gains available in power and torque.
The main difference between our Stage Two and our Stage Three Package is the addition of high flow fuel injectors. In a diesel engine, more fuel = more power, provided you have the air to burn it! We also only have a small window of crankshaft rotation available to inject the fuel. High flow injectors allow us to increase the amount of fuel delivered to the engine during this window, resulting in huge gains in power and torque.
  • G76 Custom ECU Remap

  • Upgraded Exhaust

  • Upgraded Snorkel & Airbox

  • Upgraded Turbocharger

  • Intercooler Upgrades Or Intercooler Fans

  • High Flow Injectors

POPULAR QUESTIONS

Frequently Asked Diesel Performance Questions

How can I improve my diesel performance?

The fastest and most reliable way to increase Diesel Performance is to remap the stock ECU. Doing this is a conservative way to gain additional horsepower and torque. Talk to Garage76 about tuning options.

Should I get my Diesel tuned?

By simply adjusting the engine timing, fuel delivery, and turbo settings through the vehicle's computer, you can unlock the full potential of your diesel engine.
Diesel performance can be enhanced by flashing a new map onto your car's computer via the OBD port, which replaces the manufacturer's default map designed for global compatibility and varying maintenance standards.
A majority of ECU-controlled diesel engines feature wastegate and boost control, which significantly contribute to the improvements achieved through tuning. Modern diesel engines offer individual cylinder fuel and timing adjustments and additional adjustment points, while older models rely on fuel rail pressure and timing control.
Though the older engines can still benefit from tuning, the power gains from remapping newer ECUs are more substantial.

How can I improve the fuel efficiency of my diesel engine?

Improving fuel efficiency of your diesel engine through tuning involves optimising the engine's parameters to achieve better performance while consuming less fuel.
Here are some tuning strategies to enhance diesel engine fuel efficiency:

ECU remapping: This involves modifying the engine control unit (ECU) settings to optimise fuel injection, air-fuel ratio, and turbo boost pressure. A custom remap can be tailored to your driving style and requirements, helping you achieve better fuel efficiency without compromising performance.

Turbocharger upgrades: Upgrading to a more efficient turbocharger can help improve engine performance while reducing fuel consumption.

High-flow injectors: Replacing your stock fuel injectors with high-flow injectors can optimise the fuel delivery, resulting in more efficient combustion and reduced fuel consumption.

Intercooler upgrades: Upgrading the intercooler can improve the efficiency of the turbocharger system by reducing the temperature of compressed air entering the engine. Cooler air is denser, which allows for better combustion and fuel efficiency.

Performance air filters: Installing a high-quality performance air filter can improve the engine's air intake, providing better combustion and potentially increasing fuel efficiency.

Exhaust system upgrades: Upgrading to a free-flowing exhaust system can reduce backpressure and enhance engine efficiency, leading to improved fuel economy.

Remember that these modifications should be carried out by a professional tuner or mechanic to ensure that your diesel engine operates within safe parameters. Additionally, it's essential to take into account local emissions regulations, as some modifications may not be compliant.

Does more boost mean more power in a diesel?

Yes, increasing boost pressure in a diesel engine generally leads to more power. Boost pressure refers to the additional air pressure generated by the turbocharger, which forces more air into the engine's combustion chamber.
With more air available, the engine can burn a greater amount of fuel, resulting in increased power output.
However, there are some important factors to consider:

Fuel delivery: To achieve optimal combustion and increased power, the fuel delivery system must also be upgraded to provide the right amount of fuel for the increased air volume.

Engine components: Increasing boost pressure puts additional stress on engine components, such as pistons, connecting rods, and cylinder heads. Make sure your engine is built to handle the increased pressure, or consider upgrading these components.

ECU tuning: Proper tuning of the engine control unit (ECU) is crucial to ensure the right balance between boost pressure, fuel delivery, and ignition timing, which helps maximise power and prevent engine damage.

Temperature management: Higher boost levels can lead to increased intake air temperature, which can cause knock or pre-detonation. Investing in an upgraded intercooler can help keep air temperatures in check and avoid potential damage to the engine.

Turbocharger efficiency: Not all turbochargers are designed to handle high boost pressures efficiently. Upgrading to a more suitable turbocharger can improve performance at different engine loads and speeds.

Remember that increasing boost pressure should be done carefully and within the engine's safe operating limits. It's always best to consult a professional tuner or mechanic when making modifications to your diesel engine for increased power.

How much does it cost to get a diesel tuned?

The cost of getting a diesel engine tuned can vary significantly based on several factors, including the type of tuning, the vehicle make and model, the complexity of the modifications, and the tuner's experience and location.

Here's a general overview of the costs associated with diesel tuning:

ECU remapping: A custom ECU remap typically costs between $1,200 and $2,000. The price depends on the tuner's expertise, the vehicle's make and model, and the complexity of the remap.

Plug-and-play tuning modules: These modules range from $200 to $5,000, depending on the brand and features. They can be easily installed and removed, making them a more affordable and reversible option for some drivers.

Hardware upgrades: The cost of upgrading components, such as turbochargers, injectors, intercoolers, or exhaust systems, can vary greatly depending on the specific parts and the labour required for installation. Expect to pay anywhere from a few hundred dollars to several thousand dollars for these upgrades.

Dyno tuning: Dyno tuning can cost between $500 and $2,000, depending on the complexity of the tuning process and the number of hours spent on the dyno. This method allows the tuner to fine-tune the engine's performance in a controlled environment and measure the gains accurately.

Labour costs: Depending on the extent of the tuning, labour costs can range from a couple of hours to several days. Labour rates vary based on the tuner's experience and location, with hourly rates ranging from $150-200.

Keep in mind that these are general estimates, and the actual cost of tuning your diesel engine may vary. It's always best to get quotes from multiple tuners to find a service that fits your needs and budget.
